Project: Dane County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad Equipment Upgrade

Recipient: Dane County Sheriff’s Office

Amount Requested: $580,000

Description: The funds would be used to replace two aging, obsolete bomb squad robots with modern, mission-capable systems to enhance law enforcement and technician safety, operational effectiveness, and regional explosive threat response across Dane County and 25 surrounding counties. This project is an appropriate use of federal funds because the new systems will directly enhance first responder safety, operational readiness, and regional public safety.

Project: Green County Sheriff’s Office Equipment Upgrade

Recipient: Green County Sheriff’s Office

Amount Requested: $163,000

Description: The funds would be used to support the procurement of vital scanning equipment to improve the safety and security of individuals and staff at the county corrections facility. This project is an appropriate use of federal funds because it will enable local law enforcement to significantly reduce the presence of dangerous narcotics, including opioids, and other contraband materials in the facility while simultaneously reducing the need for invasive physical searches. The acquisition of this equipment will better protect members of the public and law enforcement while improving the humane treatment of individuals as they are processed into the facility.

Project: UW-Madison Clinical Simulation Technology Lab

Recipient: University of Wisconsin-Madison

Amount Requested: $1,300,000

Description: The funding would be used for research and development of novel simulation and imaging technology that would allow UW-Madison nursing students to better support healthcare delivery in rural critical access hospitals and with geriatric patients. This project is an appropriate use of federal funds because the project will help create equipment and technology standards, as well as develop new simulation models for care in rural environments and with geriatric patients.

Project: Village of Black Earth Well No. 1 Reconstruction

Recipient: Village of Black Earth

Amount Requested: $1,000,000

Description: The funding would be used to make necessary upgrades to Village Well No. 1 in order to modernize the severely outdated and deteriorating structure. This project is a good use of federal funds because the current well poses a significant reliability risk to the community’s water supply, and an upgraded facility will not only improve reliability for residents, businesses, and fire protection, but also improve safety for public utility employees.

Project: Village of Cross Plains Village Hall & Police Department Construction

Recipient: Village of Cross Plains

Amount Requested: $750,000

Description: The funding would be used to support construction of a new Village Hall and Police Department facility to replace the current building, which is outdated, undersized, non-ADA compliant, and unable to adequately serve Village staff or residents. This project is a good use of federal funds because it will significantly improve the delivery of municipal and public safety services while also providing valuable and accessible community space for residents, supporting modern policing operations, and accommodating the needs of a growing community.

Project: Town of Cottage Grove Ridge Road Improvements

Recipient: Town of Cottage Grove

Amount Requested: $900,000

Description: The funding would be used to rehabilitate and improve Ridge Road, a critical township roadway that serves area farmers, local residents, and agricultural service providers. This project is a good use of federal funds because it will extend the life of the roadway and ensure the roadway can safely accommodate farm equipment, school buses, emergency vehicles, and regular residential traffic.

Project: Brooklyn Fire & EMS District Tender Replacement

Recipient: Brooklyn Fire & EMS District

Amount Requested: $500,000

Description: The funding would be used to replace the department’s aging tender with a modern, reliable apparatus capable of safely and efficiently supporting fire suppression. This project is a good use of federal funds because it will enhance the department’s ability to protect lives and property within the community. A reliable water tender ensures a consistent and rapid water supply during structure fires, wildland fires, and other emergencies, which can dramatically improve fire suppression effectiveness and response outcomes.

Project: Kegonsa Sanitary District Force Main Relocation

Recipient: Kegonsa Sanitary District

Amount Requested: $140,000

Description: The funding would be used to relocate critical force main sections along Highway 51 and install two metering manholes between Stoughton, WI and McFarland, WI. This relocation is necessitated by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) US Highway 51 improvement project between Stoughton and McFarland. This project is a good use of federal funds because it will ensure that the District is able to provide continued and uninterrupted sewer service while also protecting the water quality of Lake Kegonsa and the lower Yahara River Watershed.

Project: Village of Shorewood Hills Water Main Replacement

Recipient: Village of Shorewood Hills Water Utility

Amount Requested: $1,000,000

Description: The funding would be used to replace an 80-year-old water main along Tally Ho Lane in Shorewood Hills which has a history of recurring breaks and currently poses ongoing drinking water reliability and service risks to residents. This project is an appropriate use of federal funds because it will improve drinking water reliability, public safety, and long-term infrastructure resilience for residents in the Village while also cutting down on costly emergency repairs and service disruptions.

Project: Village of Oregon Water Tower Construction

Recipient: Village of Oregon Water Utility

Amount Requested: $1,000,000

Description: The funding would be used to replace the Village’s current aging and undersized water tower with a new 400,000-gallon capacity water tower on the Village of Oregon’s southeast side. This project is an appropriate use of federal funds because it will enable the Village’s water system to better meet the drinking water needs of the current residents, ensure service reliability for a growing community, and protect against the risk of water contamination posed by the current aging facility.

Project: Iowa County CTH C Construction

Recipient: Iowa County Highway Department      

Amount Requested: $2,750,000

Description: The funding would support Phase 2 of construction improvements to a segment of County Trunk Highway C (CTH C), between US Highway 15 and State Highway 23, which is experiencing significant deterioration leading to unsafe roadway conditions. This project is an appropriate use of federal funds because reconstruction of the highway will remediate existing safety concerns, mitigate the cost of frequent short-term repairs, and ensure the roadway remains open and can continue to serve as a primary conduit to multiple local tourist destinations which are key economic drivers for the community.

Amount Requested: $500,000

Description: The funds would support a planned site improvement project at the Shullsburg Badger Park. Specifically, the requested funding would enable the city to upgrade aging facilities, improve accessibility, enhance event capacity, and ensure long-term sustainability of this essential public asset. Description: The funds would be used to complete the replacement of obsolete downtown lighting fixtures with a new efficient, aesthetically appropriate, and light-pollution-reducing design. Project: Madison Area Technical College Workforce Solutions Hub Renovations

Description: The funds would be used to renovate the existing Madison College Foundation Building to serve as the location for a new South Central Wisconsin Workforce Solutions Hub, a regional initiative designed to strengthen the talent pipeline, support employers facing workforce shortages, and expand access to career pathways across South Central Wisconsin. This project is an appropriate use of federal funds because it will expand the college’s capacity to convene employers, deliver targeted workforce programming, and accelerate the connection between education and employment.

Description: The funds would be used to acquire a site, and support construction of emergency transitional housing to improve housing affordability and spur economic development in Southwestern Wisconsin. Project: Lafayette County Affordable Housing Units Restoration

Recipient: Lafayette County Housing Authority

Amount Requested: $750,000

Description: The funds would be used to support restoration and modernization of multiple affordable housing buildings in various communities across Lafayette County, accounting for 73 units across six communities. Description: The funds would be used to renovate and replace a failing public works utility garage in order to provide a safe, secure and adequately sized facility for equipment and staff. Project: City of Verona Reddan Soccer Park Secondary Access & Safety Improvements

Recipient: City of Verona

Description: The funding would be used to construct a secondary vehicle access point to the facility, connecting the facility to Prairie Oaks Drive. Project: City of Monona Local Access Road Reconstruction

Description: The funds would support critical infrastructure improvements for a local road that operates as the access lane serving multiple local organizations that serve residents across Monona and the greater Madison area.
