Service Academy Nominations

As a United States Representative, Congressman Mark Pocan has the honor of nominating outstanding young men and women from Wisconsin's 2nd Congressional District to the United States Service Academies.

Thank you for your interest in applying for the U.S. Service Academies through our office. Our office will be hosting a Service Academy information day, which will be held on:

WHEN: May 9, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
WHERE: Madison Public Library - Central | 201 W Mifflin St, Madison WI, 53703

Service academy delegates and ROTC recruiters will be in attendance to present information and answer any questions you may have.

To apply to be considered for a Service Academy Nomination, you must be:

  • An unmarried citizen of the United States with no dependents.
  • At least 17 years old but not past your 23rd birthday on the first of July of the year you wish to be admitted. *
  • A resident of Wisconsin's 2nd Congressional District. You, or your legal guardians, must claim Wisconsin's 2nd District as your primary district of residence. **

*USMMA applicants ONLY: you must be at least 17 years of age and must not have passed your 25th birthday before July 1 in the year of entrance. **USMMA applicants ONLY: you must be a resident of Wisconsin.

To apply, complete these two steps:

  1. Contact the academy directly to open a pre-candidate file. You may do so here:
  2. Apply here for a Congressional nomination. Nomination applications may be submitted now and must be completed and received in the Congressional office no later than 5 PM, October 16, 2026.

Complete applications for a nomination must be received in Congressman Pocan's office no later than 5 p.m. CST on October 16th with all necessary documentation. This is a firm deadline.

Applicants who have submitted complete applications by 5 p.m. CST on October 16, and who are selected for an interview will be notified of their interview date and time via email after the October 16 deadline. Interviews are conducted in Madison during the month of November.

Once you submit this application page, you cannot come back to edit responses or make changes. You cannot save this page, it must be completed all at once. Do not submit multiple applications as a way to change answers. Make yourself familiar with what is being asked of you before submitting an application. Changes to your application may be difficult to make, so be sure when you submit your answers.

When adding your contact information, add an email you actively monitor. It will be your primary means of communication with Congressman Pocan's staff on your application's standing, as well as interview dates and general updates.
